The power of giving

ANDERS believes that giving does not make poor, but that it enriches people’s lives when they share their talents and possibilities with others. We put this in practice by bringing two totally different groups in society together: people in poverty and entrepreneurs.

Since 2015 ANDERS is building networks of entrepreneurs who are willing to help people in need with their own product, service or talent. After ANDERS receives the request for help they visit them at home to get a better understanding of the situation. The next step is that they contact a local entrepreneur who is willing to make the difference. For example, local gardeners help people who can not maintain their garden because of illness. But also lawyers, plumbers, hairdressers, painters and others decide to help out, simply because they can and simply because they believe in the power of giving. Afterwards also those who receive help are challenged to be a giver to someone in their own neighborhood. This is called the Pay It Forward. Because no one is too poor, too old, or too much in need to be of value in society.

Since the start of ANDERS in 2015 already 700 entrepreneurs have joined the work, spread out over 4 local ANDERS networks, making possible that yearly hundreds of families and individuals are supported in their difficult lives. There are ANDERS networks in Rotterdam, Drechtsteden, Eindhoven and Amstelland. But also four new networks are rising up. It’s the ambition of ANDERS to make ANDERS networks possible in every large city and province of the Netherland. A movement of giving that will make this country more resilient and more beautiful.
