The intention of the Fred Foundation is to inspire a more functional, balanced and caring society. It aims to stimulate people to be self-reliant and contribute to sense of ‘self-responsAbility’. Our projects are based on mutual co-existence through sharing and caring, rather than a society of competition and inequality.

The Fred Foundation offers co-funding for projects that are proposed by inspired individuals and organizations. With financial support, the StartFund aims to contribute to the empowerment of people. The focus of the StartFund’s support is on projects in the fields of healthcare, care for nature & environment and community care.
STARTFUND

StartFund was founded in 1996 with the aim to offer individuals and organizations co-funding for inspiring creative small scale projects at the grassroots level. The projects range from the field of healthcare to the fields of community work and environment. The aim of StartFund is to empower people through the realization of these projects. The co-funding aspect is important as the project initiators are stimulated to take responsibility in finding the remaining funds when their project is approved by StartFund. Until so far StartFund Netherlands has co-funded over 200 projects worldwide.
