The Fred Foundation was founded by Fred Matser in 1996 to contribute to the development of a more functional society by supporting and empowering individuals and groups.
The Fred Foundation has initiated many inspiring projects both in The Netherlands and internationally. These have encompassed many fields of endeavour including: the environment, health, childcare, energy research, community development and humanitarian aid. Some of these projects have become self-supporting while others have run their course over a specific time period.
Through StartFund (formerly known as CIE Program) Fred Foundation has provided financial support to individuals and organizations for the realization of inspiring projects in the fields of integral healthcare, nature and environment, community care.
Through Start Fund Netherlands we co-funded over 200 projects (1996-2009) and through our US-office (StartFund USA) we hope to have funded in 2009 about 40 projects).
