Our Philosophy

The Fred Foundation's philosophy has been based on the observation that the chaos in the world is a reflection of the chaos in people’s  minds and hearts.

Our concern is that all over the world people often make decisions primarily based on rationalisation, so often not involving our hearts. This, as we all can see,  has quite devastating consequences on our behaviour, our interactions and the environment. Because our consciousness and actions reflect one another, the Fred Foundation believes that to ultimately transform the way we live as human beings, we need to work on understanding ourselves and become aware of our essence, those things that have real meaning in our lives. This will put us in a better position to help not only ourselves but also others and recognize the importance of a sustainable relation with the environment.

This is why the Fred Foundation emphasizes the importance of people's holistic awareness. Originating from the belief in the interconnectedness of life, a cyclical mind-set is essential in all the operations. The Fred Foundation aims to contribute to the creation of nurturing environments which promote an attitude of inclusiveness and cooperation in its activities. It encourages ways in which people are stimulated to discover their essence and potential, share and take care of themselves and each other and are reminded of the necessary balance between thinking/feeling and giving/receiving.
